Hornet baseball falls in Regional Tournament

WARRENSBURG, MO. May 18, 2007-- The Emporia State baseball team fell to Central Missouri 5-1 as the two teams met for the eight time this season in the NCAA Division II Central Regional Tournament. ESU scratched across the first run of the ballgame Mark McBratney singled to drive in Conner Crumbliss who had walked earlier in the inning. Brock Nehls then held the Mules scoreless for five innings before they broke through with three runs in the top of the sixth inning. Nehls only gave up four earned runs in the loss as UCM pitcher Jarod Potts struck out ten for his squad. The Hornets will now move into the elimination portion of the bracket where they will take on Minnesota State-Mankato in the 3:30 p.m. game. Should they win they will play the loser of the Central Missouri and Nebraska-Omaha game at 7 p.m.
