Archery Draws a Variety of Skill Levels

In the zone" and "on target" is an expression that could be applied to nearly every sport offered in the Sunflower State Games --- and in the case of Archery --- it is "the" game. The event's commissioner says it's a fun challenge for competitors of all ages....
"There's different skill levels. There is state champions, there is state record holders."
--- Roger Grammer - SSG Archery Commissioner
Talk about your pursuit of perfection.
"We have competitors who will shoot 90 arrows and miss, maybe, 25 points."
There are four foot targets. 15 to 30 feet for kids, 50 to 70 feet for adults.
"To get it in the center, you have to do the same motion, same alignment to do exactly the same thing."
Five arrows must be shot in four minutes. 30 arrows per round. It's not as serious as it looks.
"The sport is an individual sport, you're competing against yourself. You have to improve yourself to get your last, best shot."
