Royals Fall on Controversial Call

^AP-MLB: Athletics/Royals<

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ Dan Johnson's sacrifice fly with one out
in the eleventh inning plated Shannon Stewart with the winning run
as the Oakland Athletics slid past Kansas City 5-to-4.
Johnson lifted a high fly to center field where David DeJesus
caught it and fired a one-hopper to catcher Paul Phillips. Stewart
slid under Phillips tag and the A's celebrated.
Johnson also singled in the sixth to extend his hitting streak
to an American League-best 15 games.
Lenny DiNardo pitched an inning of relief for the victory and is
1-and-1. Joakim Soria (SOHR'-ee-uh) took the loss and is 1-and-2.
John Buck hit his seventh homer for the Royals.
