Washburn Rural Soccer Is Top 10 In The Nation
The praise for the Washburn Rural Soccer did not end when the season was over as they are given Top 10 status.

Washburn Rural Boys Soccer won their State Final game against Lawrence Freestate 3-0 in the first week of November. This gave them the 2009 Class 6A State Champs title.
This week Washburn Rural was also given the title of a Top 10 team in the Nation. The Jr Blues were ranked 10th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll and ranked 29th in ESPN's Fab 50.
Rural ended the season 20-1 with their only loss coming to the Number 1 team in the Nation for both polls- Saint Thomas Aquinas.
