Donations for Greensburg to be accepted at K-State baseball games

MANHATTAN, Kan. – In an effort to assist with relief efforts for the town of Greensburg, Kan., Kansas State athletics will be accepting donations of canned goods and bottled water at each of the Wildcats’ four remaining baseball games, department officials announced Thursday.

Beginning with K-State’s three-game baseball series vs. Texas A&M this weekend and concluding with the Wildcats’ home-season finale against Illinois State on Tuesday, May 15, fans who bring a donations of either canned goods or bottled water may purchase a general admission single-game ticket for just $1.

The K-State athletics department will also be accepting monetary donations on behalf of the United Way Greensburg Disaster Fund at all remaining games. The fund was set up by the United Way to serve as a central collection point for anyone wishing to make monetary contributions to help the victims of the deadly tornado that devastated Greensburg in south-central Kansas last Friday.
