Royals Strike Out Against A's

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Chad Gaudin struck out a career-high
eight and the Oakland Athletics defeated the Kansas City Royals
6-to-1.
Gaudin pitched eight innings to improve to 2-and-1. He limited
the Royals to five hits and allowed just one hit after the fourth
inning. He lowered his E-R-A to two-point 18, third in the American
League.
The A's won back-to-back games for the first time since April
24th at Baltimore. They are 28-and-6 at Kauffman Stadium since the
beginning of the 2000 season. The Royals have lost four straight
and are 2-and-6 on the ten-game homestand.
