LAWRENCE, Kan. – Sunday's Big 12 Conference series finale between Kansas State and Kansas has been cancelled due to heavy rain in the Lawrence area. The game will not be made up.
Kansas State goes on to sweep the conference series, 2-0, and also moved to 3-0 on the season against the Jayhawks after defeating them back in April in a non-conference game.
The Wildcats remain at 31-17 overall and 9-11 in Big 12 play and will finish the weekend in sixth place in the league standings, just ahead of seventh place Oklahoma. The top eight teams with the highest conference winning percentages will advance to the conference tournament in Oklahoma City, Okla., beginning May 23.
Next action for the Wildcats will be Friday, May 11, when No. 12 Texas A&M visits Tointon Stadium for a three-game Big 12 series. K-State will not play any midweek games this week due to final exams.
