TOPEKA, Kan. – Lady Blues head coach Ron McHenry has announced Brette
Ulsaker, a transfer from the University of Utah and McPherson, Kan.,
native has signed a scholarship agreement to play at Washburn. Ulsaker
(pronounced ULL-sake-er) will have three seasons of eligibility starting
“Her experienced gained by starting 28 games at Utah as a freshman will
be a big plus for us,” McHenry said. “Brette comes from an outstanding
high school program where she won a state title. She’s a versatile guard
who can play both the point and shooting spots on the court and she is
very athletic as well. She will fit in very well with the style of game
we want to play.”
This season for Utah, the 5-9 guard started 28 of their 29 games and
averaged 3.4 points, 2.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game. Utah reached
the second round of the Women’s NIT this season going 18-14. She scored
a season-high 11 points against Wyoming and dished out a high of seven
assists in two games as a freshman. She played nearly 27 minutes a game.
