Chiefs Pick Dwayne Bowe

NEW YORK (AP) _ The Kansas City Chiefs have used their
first-round pick to grab L-S-U receiver Dwayne Bowe.
Bowe led the Tigers in receptions his last two seasons,
including 65 catches for 990 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior.
His 26 career touchdown receptions broke the school record despite
never having a season with more than 990 yards.
Bowe averaged 17-point-three yards on his 41 catches in 2005
before becoming the Tigers' top deep threat a year later. He
started 30 of 37 games during his final three seasons after playing
in all 14 games as a true freshman.
The six-two, 221-pounder takes advantage of his strong physique
to make room off the line of scrimmage. He has long arms and hands
that allow him to make tough catches on a regular basis. Bowe also
blocks well and was an unselfish player in college, doing the
little things to make the offense click. Bowe isn't a burner and
hasn't shown a great fake-move but has the ability to become a
valuable West Coast receiver in the N-F-L.
