KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ It's a big weekend for women at Kansas
Speedway.
Venezuelan driver Milka Duno will be making her IndyCar Series
debut on Sunday, joining Sarah Fisher and Danica Patrick in
becoming the first three women to start the same race on a major
circuit.
Before that, three women will start Friday's ARCA race and Kelly
Sutton will start tomorrow night's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
race.
But most of the attention has gone to Duno, the 34-year-old
former naval engineer who will make her debut with very little time
behind the wheel.
Duno didn't earn her IndyCar series rookie license until
yesterday, when she completed 210 laps on the one and a-half mile
tri-oval. That came after a 140-lap trip on April 12th, her first
time in an Indy car.
