KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ The N-F-L suspends Chiefs defensive end
Jared Allen for the first four games of the 2007 season for
violating its substance-abuse policy.
Allen learned of the suspension from the league office today.
The 25-year-old Allen has been charged twice in the last year
with driving under the influence of alcohol in the Kansas City
area. He entered a diversion program for the first charge and
pleaded no contest to the second.
Allen hasn't signed the two-point-three (m) million dollar
one-year contract offer the Chiefs have made. Last winter, Allen
told the Chiefs that he wanted to be traded.
