MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Mike Redmond singled home Justin Morneau with
one out in the bottom of the eleventh inning to give the Minnesota
a 1-to-0 win over Kansas City.
The victory snapped a four-game losing streak.
Morneau and Jason Tyner had back-to-back singles off Royals
reliever Todd Wellemeyer (WEHL'-eh-my-ur) before Redmond lined the
game-winning single to right.
Juan Rincon is 1-and-0 after pitching the eleventh.
The Twins lost center fielder Torri Hunter in the second inning
when he was hit in the mouth by a Zack Greinke (GRAYN'-kee)
fastball.
Hunter was taken to a hospital for stitches to repair a cut on
the inside of his mouth and he's listed as day-to-day.
The Royals stranded 14 runners.
