ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The top seeded and No. 25 nationally ranked Washburn
Lady Blues improved to 19-0 and advanced to the finals of the MIAA
Tournament. They will face the No. 2 seed Emporia State on Sunday. The
Lady Blues breezed through the first two rounds picking up a pair of 5-
0 wins.
In the opener, they topped Fort Hays State and in the semis, they took
out the No. 5 seeded Southwest Baptist Bearcats.
Washburn is looking for their fourth MIAA Championship after winning
titles in 1991, 2000 and 2004.
