April 20, 2007-- The Hornet baseball team earned a 5-3 victory over #5 Central Missouri on Friday, April 20 at Glennen Field in Emporia. The Hornet bats struck early as Brian Majors scored from second on a Keith Hernandez single, which was followed by a two-run shot off the bat of Matt Marasco. Marasco added another RBI on a sacrifice fly in the third, and scored the Hornets final run of the night after doubling in the bottom of the eighth. On the hill Mickey Lara went seven innings only allowing three runs for the victory, as Daniel Waggoner came on in the eighth to get his second save of the year. The Hornets will face the Mules again on Saturday, April 21 in a double header [7/7] with first pitch coming at 1 p.m.
