Topeka, Kansas, April 13, 2007 ----- Four-time APFL Champion Koyotes’ Head Coach Jim Green has long ties to sports and the local community.

Coach Green has put together a strong and lightning fast team with players and coaches coming from Washburn, KU, K-State, Emporia State, Baker University, Coastal Carolina University, Bethany College, Sterling College and Ottawa University including Lawrence (KS) High School kicker Abby Vestal, the first female to play in the APFL. “We can’t wait until we unveil our guys this year. We have 23 returning players along with 13 new acquisitions. We’ve got some incredible surprises this year. It’s going to be fun,” says Coach Green.

With playing and coaching experience in Topeka, Manhattan and Colorado, Green brings a tremendous amount of experience to the Koyotes. He attended Manhattan High School, played on Special Teams and as Quarterback for Kansas State University from 1980 – 1982, played Semi-Pro football in Colorado Springs for the Colorado Springs Flames / and was the first quarterback of the Denver Dynamites (Arena Football League 1986 –1987) who played in the first-ever Arena football game.

His coaching experience includes an internship for the QB’s and receivers with Seaman High School in Topeka, Kansas, from 1984 –1985, QB's / Receivers / Special Team Coach for Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, CO, and promoted to Interim Head Coach of the team in 1989; worked his way to Semi-Pro football as the QB’s/Asst. Offensive Coordinator with the Colorado Springs Flames, Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1990 – 1992; and came to the Kansas Koyotes, Topeka, Kansas, in 2003 as their Offensive Asst. / QB’s Coach. Green was given the Koyotes’ head coaching position in 2006 where is record was 12-2. This will be his second season as the Koyotes’ head man.

Coach Green earned his Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on Exercise Physiology from Washburn University / Kansas State University and a degree in Post Rehabilitation Therapy for cervical and lumbar rehabilitation from University of California San Diego.

Coach Green has spent 23 years in the Health and Wellness industry and owned and operated Dynamic Health and Wellness of Topeka for 5 Years. He is also a YMCA Certified National Director, Professional Member of the Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Trainer of the Strength and Conditioning Association and an Adjunct Professor for Washburn University for Life Time Wellness.

Adding three new teams to the league and an 11 game schedule, the Koyotes will be kicking off their season with a home opener at the Kansas Expocentre at 7:05pm on Saturday April 21st against the powerful Iowa Blackhawks.

The Koyotes’ schedule includes returning rival teams the Iowa Blackhawks and the Missouri Minutemen with the addition of new teams Ft. Worth Regulators and Conroe Storm from Texas and the Springfield WolfPack from Missouri.
