Emporia State's Rossbach Wins 3000m at the KU Relays

EMPORIA, KAN. (April 19, 2007)—Jonel Rossbach ran the fourth fastest
time in ESU history to win the 3000m at the 80th Anniversary KU Relays
on Thursday night. Her time of 10:03.45 is a provisional qualifier and
ranks eighth in the nation this season.
In other action on the track Skyler Delmott ran the fastest 5000m for
ESU this year to finish in 21st place, Shea Camien finished 20th and
Michael Stephens placed 26th in the unseeded 1500m while Jonathan
Heinicke finished 61st in the unseeded 800m.
In the only field event action of the day, Stephanie Grote placed 18th
in the hammer throw.
Action at KU gets underway at 11:30 a.m. for ESU with the women’s shot
put. Defending national champion Andy Vogelsberg will compete in the
javelin at 5 p.m. He is the top ranked collegian entered in the event.
