Head coach Bob Chipman added another signing for the 2007-08 season on Tuesday when Covier Carter signed a letter of intent to attend Washburn this fall and play basketball. Carter comes to WU after playing two years at Grand Rapids Community College.
Carter put in 18.9 points a game while grabbing 4.2 rebounds to earn a
spot on the all-Region XII team last year. He was a 46 percent shooter
with a 79 percent effort from the free throw line. He also was named
all-region his freshman year with 12 points a game. He went to GRCC
after graduating from East Kentwood High School in Kentwood, Michigan.
Carter joins Darnell Kimble and James Williams, who signed last week.

Played in 24 games and averaged 18.0 points per game and 4.2 rebounds

from the free throw line and 46 percent from the field…had 2.5 steals
per game.
