New Hampton, N.H. -- Guy Alang-Ntang, a member of the class of 2007 at New Hampton School in New Hampton, N.H., and a Fall, 2006 basketball signee at Wichita State, died Monday after collapsing on a school basketball court during a pick-up game at approximately 7 pm, according to officials at the NHS.
Alang-Ntang, a 6-foot-7 forward and a native of Cameroon, was taken by ambulance to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, where he was later pronounced dead.
Head of School Andrew Menke stated, “We are deeply saddened by tonight’s tragic event. New Hampton is a very close-knit community, and Guy was a wonderful part of it. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
Wichita State released this statement following news of Alang-Ntang's death, "We are deeply saddened by Guy's tragic death. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Guy's family, friends, teammates, and coaches during this time of loss."
