Jayhawks Take On Third Consecutive Ranked Opponent Saturday
A tough stretch of schedule continues for the Kansas volleyball team (15-12, 7-10 Big 12) as the Jayhawks welcome its third-straight ranked opponent on Saturday, Nov. 21 in No. 9 Nebraska (20-6, 13-4 Big 12).

Jayhawks Take On Third Consecutive Ranked Opponent Saturday
A tough stretch of schedule continues for the Kansas volleyball team (15-12, 7-10 Big 12) as the Jayhawks welcome its third-straight ranked opponent on Saturday, Nov. 21 in No. 9 Nebraska (20-6, 13-4 Big 12). The match, one of just three regular-season contests remaining for the Jayhawks, is slated for 3 p.m.

About Kansas
Kansas duo Allison Mayfield and Karina Garlington pace the Jayhawk offense with 3.66 kps (fifth in the Big 12) and 3.39 kps (sixth in the Big 12), respectively. In conference matches, Mayfield is even better at 3.91 kps. Nicole Tate is handing out 11.03 aps for Kansas, a mark which ranks 30th nationally. Defensively, Melissa Manda is one of five players averaging over two digs per set with 3.76 dps. In the last seven matches, Melissa Grieb has stepped in to play libero leading the Jayhawks with 4.61 dps in that span.

Since October of 1975 Nebraska has gone undefeated against Kansas posting an 83-0-1 record, including a 3-0 win earlier this season in Lincoln.
Eight Jayhawks Named Academic All-Big 12
Eight Kansas volleyball players were named to the 52-person Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball Team. Among those honored, KU’s Katie Martincich was one of two student-athletes nominated with a 4.00 grade point average. Kansas and Oklahoma led the league with eight selections each.
In addition to Martincich, seniors Melissa Grieb and Paige Mazour, juniors Karina Garlington and Melissa Manda and sophomores Lauren Hagan and Allison Mayfield were all named to the first team. Sophomore Nicole Tate was a second team selection.
Martincich Cracks Second Career List
For the second time in two matches, senior Katie Martincich cracked the top 10 of one of Kansas’ record lists. Martincich played in her 411th career set on Wednesday at Iowa State to tie for the 10th most sets played in Kansas volleyball history. Prior to ISU, Martincich cracked the top 10 career digs list.

Kansas has just two matches left in the regular-season. The Jayhawks will hold its last home match of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 24 versus Texas Tech. That match, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., will be the final contest in the Horejsi Family Athletics Center for seniors Melissa Grieb, Katie Martincich, Paige Mazour and Brittany Williams. KU then travels to No. 2 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 28 in its last regular-season match up.
