Chiefs Sign LB Justin Rogers, Send G Mike Goff to IR

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Wednesday that the club has signed free agent LB Justin Rogers.
Rogers (6-4, 246) played in 31 games in two seasons with Dallas (2007-08), producing three tackles and 34 special teams stops. He also appeared in one postseason contest with the Cowboys. He ranked third on the Cowboys with 18 special teams tackles in 2008. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick (180th overall) of New England in 2007.
Rogers played in 43 games (33 starts) at SMU, tallying 184 tackles, 32.0 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles and a blocked kick. He finished his collegiate career ranked second in school history with 19.5 sacks. He was a two-time all-district player at Commerce High School in Greenville, Texas.
The Chiefs placed G Mike Goff on injured reserve on Wednesday. Goff played in eight games with seven starts at right guard for Kansas City in 2009. He has seen action in 171 regular season contests (154 starts) during his 12-year career with Cincinnati (’98-03), San Diego (2004-08) and Kansas City (2009). He originally entered the NFL as a third-round selection (78th overall) of Cincinnati in ’98.
