Wichita Wranglers to become Arkansas Naturals after move

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) _ The Texas League team now known as the
Wichita Wranglers will become the Arkansas Naturals when it begins
play in northwest Arkansas.
Springdale is building a new baseball to accommodate the team,
expected to begin play in April 2008. For the upcoming Double-A
season, the team will remain the Wranglers and play at Wichita.
General manager Eric Edelstein announced selection of the team's
new name at a news conference. He said the process including two
rounds of Internet voting, in-person surveys, and polling by
telephone.
The name is a play on the Arkansas nickname of ``the Natural
State'' and the 1984 movie starring Robert Redford, ``The
Natural.'' It won 33 percent of the Internet vote. Next was the
Thunder Chickens.
