Fresh off its 88-84 overtime victory over Texas in the Big 12 Championship game, Kansas (30-4) learned Sunday it will play the winner of Tuesday's Florida A&M/Niagara opening round game in the First Round of the NCAA Championship. The Jayhawks earned a No. 1 seed in the West region and will play their first game against the 16th-seed winner on Friday, March 16 at the United Center in Chicago.
Kansas is making its 18th-straight appearance in the NCAA Championships and 36th overall. Should the Jayhawks advance, they would play the winner of the No. 8 Kentucky (21-11)/No. 9 Villanova (22-10) game on Sunday, March 18, in Chicago. Exact game times will be announced Monday.
