Scots Win State Championship, Finish 25-0

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Highland Park remained undefeated and beat
McPherson 76-to-59 in the class 5A boys state championship tonight
in Topeka.
Highland Park finished the game shooting 61 percent from the
field. Coach Ken Darting notched his third state championship as a
head coach.
Kyle Weems had a game-high 21 points for the Scots. Guards
Adrian Herrera and Rico Richardson both added 16 points, while
senior point guard Lamont Austin had 12 points.
Highland Park finished the year as the only unbeaten boys team
in the state, going 25-and-oh and winning its second state title in
four seasons.
Tanner Hawkinson came off the bench to lead McPherson with 18
points. Jordan Crawford added 16 points and Chris Crawford had ten
for McPherson.
