Royals see more player injuries

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) _ Kansas City Royals third-base prospect
Alex Gordon will out a few games with a sore shoulder.
Gordon -- last season's minor league player of the year --
apparently hurt the shoulder diving for a ball against the Angels
last night. Manager Buddy Bell said Gordon would probably have an
M-R-I, but that the problem did not appear serious.
Also in last night's game, right-hander Leo Nunez sustained a
hairline fracture above his right wrist when struck by a batted
ball. Bell said a splint had been applied and the arm would
probably be cast.
Bell also said that reliever Joe Nelson, as expected, would have
shoulder surgery within the next week.
