Grudzielanek will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee
The team says there is no timetable for his return. Team
physician Doctor Steve Joyce will perform the procedure to repair a
medial meniscus cartilage tear he suffered during workouts prior to
Saturday's game against Texas.
the 36-year-old Grudzielanek won his first gold glove and hit
.297 last season, his first with the Royals. He had a .994 fielding
percentage with only four errors and led American League second
basemen with 111 double plays.
The Royals say he will return to the spring training facility in
Surprise, Arizona, to begin rehabilitation.
