ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Deven Mitchell scored 16 points and Blake
Ahearn had 12 as Missouri State beat Wichita State 67-to-64 tonight
in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament.
Matt Braeuer missed a three-pointer at the buzzer that would
have tied the game.
The Bears (22-9) will meet Creighton (20-10) tomorrow in a
semifinal game. Top seed and eleventh-ranked Southern Illinois
University (26-5) meets Bradley (21-11) in the other.
Braeuer had 18 points for Wichita State (17-14) and P-J
Couisnard added 17.
