KU Baseball Team Finalizes Kauffman Stadium Plans

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The University of Kansas baseball team announced that it has finalized plans for the April 25 game against Missouri at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.

Tickets for the Border Showdown contest will be $10 for general admission and can be ordered through tickets.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the ballpark on the day of the game.

The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., with stadium gate B (located on the east side of the stadium near the George Brett statue) opening at 5:30 p.m. Truman Sports Complex Gates 1, 2 and 6 will be used to access the complex parking lots. There will be no charge for parking.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for both programs to play in a major league stadium," Kansas head coach Ritch Price said. "The Missouri-Kansas rivalry is one of the best in all of college baseball. I know our players and coaches are thrilled with the opportunity to play at Kauffman Stadium."

The 40,000-seat stadium opened in 1973 and has been home to the Kansas City Royals ever since. The stadium has played host to the 1973 All-Star game as well as four games of the 1985 World Series between the Royals and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Jayhawks will play their home-opener on Sunday with a doubleheader against Western Illinois at Hoglund Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
