iRVING, Texas (AP) _ New York Giants linebacker LaVar Arrington is out for the season after tearing his left Achilles tendon in the second quarter against the Dallas Cowboys.
Arrington was hurt chasing down Dallas' Julius Jones on a running play. Arrington ended up on the turf in obvious pain. He was carted to the locker room. He had a safety before getting hurt by tackling Drew Bledsoe in the end zone.
Arrington said after the game doctors told him he could return from the injury and be the same player. The linebacker could be out of action for six months.
Arrington is in his first season with New York after playing six years for Washington.
