JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) _ St. Louis Rams linebacker Chris Draft
and Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder are joining up to raise
awareness about asthma.
Draft, who has asthma, and Kinder have made TV and radio public
service announcements designed to teach parents, teachers, athletic
coaches and children about how to deal with the respiratory
condition.
The campaign also includes posters featuring Draft and 10 tips
for dealing with asthma, such as seeing a doctor regularly and
having an asthma action plan.
The campaign is part of an initiative by the National Lieutenant
Governors Association. Kinder said that in Missouri, more than
400,000 adults and 115,000 children have asthma.
Draft has played 11 seasons in the NFL. He says wants those with
asthma to be educated and feel empowered.
