CHIEFS ANNOUNCE HIGH SCHOOL COACHES OF THE WEEK: WEEK 10

The 2008 High School Coach of the Week program is a joint initiative of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chiefs Ambassadors and the National Football League. Supported locally by the US Army, this program is designed to recognize and reward Kansas City area high school coaches for superior performance throughout the year.

The following coaches were selected from Missouri and Kansas, respectively, as the High School Coach of the Week for week 10 of the 2008 high school football season:

Missouri Kansas
Coach Fred Bouchard Coach George Radell

Staley High School Mill Valley High School

Staley High School was productive in all facets of the game in their victory over Central, 34-12. The Falcons scored on the ground, through the air, on defense and on special teams. The first year football program at Staley improved to 8-2 on the year.

Presentation for Coach Bouchard is scheduled as follows:

Fred Bouchard - Staley High School

Friday, November 7th at 3:00 p.m. at the Staley Football Stadium

2800 NE Shoal Creek Parkway

Kansas City, MO 64156

(816) 413-4100

Mill Valley's ball control offense doused any chance of Lansing victory on Friday, winning 21-14. The Jaguars ran over twice as many offensive plays as the Lions thanks to scoring drives of 10, 13, and 10 plays. The win clinched the Kaw Valley League title, the Kansas 5A, District 1 championship and handed Lansing its first loss of the season.

Presentation for Coach Radell is scheduled as follows:

George Radell – Mill Valley High School

Wednesday, November 5th at 3:00 p.m. at the Mill Valley Football Field

5900 Monticello Road

Shawnee Mission, KS 66226

(913) 422-4351

A Chiefs Ambassador and current administrator will be at each of the presentations to honor the Coach of the Week. All media are invited to attend the special tributes to honor these individuals who are shaping today’s youth and tomorrow’s leaders.
