The NFL informed the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday afternoon that RB Larry Johnson was selected by fans on NFL.com as the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his efforts in the Chiefs 33-19 victory vs. Denver last Sunday. In addition to the award, FedEx is making a $1,000 donation in the name of Johnson to the Safe Kinds USA coalition in Kansas City.

Johnson (6-1, 230) was awarded the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week Award after logging the fourth-best single-game rushing performance in Chiefs history, posting 28 carries for 198 yards and two TDs in the Chiefs first victory of the season. He now leads the AFC in rushing yards with 415 yards on 86 carries. This marks the third time that Johnson has won the award (vs. Denver 12/24/05; vs. Cincinnati 1/1/06).
