In honor of Veteran’s Day, the Kansas City Chiefs are pleased to offer tickets at a discounted price to military personnel of the past and present for the Chiefs contest on November 2nd vs. Tampa Bay. A limited number of tickets are available to active or retired military personnel, and their families, at a special discounted ticket price of $35. In addition, the Chiefs will honor military members of the past, present and future throughout the day with a pre-game flyover and a special Veterans Day halftime in honor of America’s Armed Forces.

The Chiefs have had a long-standing relationship with men and women of uniform. This past May, Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards was a guest of Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Edwards addressed an elite group enrolled in the School of Advanced Military Studies at the Command and General Staff College. Edwards’ father, Master Sergeant Herman Lee Edwards, Sr., served nearly three decades in the U.S. Army. In addition to Coach Edwards, both offensive coordinator Chan Gailey and defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham grew up in military households. Special teams coach Mike Priefer is a graduate of the Naval Academy and flew helicopters as a Naval officer for five years before starting his coaching career. In addition, Chiefs President Carl Peterson began his college career at West Point.

LB Donnie Edwards raises money for local members of the Armed Forces through the Donnie Edwards Best Defense Foundation. This non-profit organization ensures the morale and welfare of service men and women based at Whiteman Air Force Base. In all, programs go to support and uplift not only those in uniform, but those families as well. During his time in the NFL, Edwards has made supporting the military a true passion as both of his grandfathers served in World War I and the Korean Conflict, while his sister served in the Navy.
