TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Kansas Speedway and Camping World have
donated 1,000 tickets to members of the Kansas National Guard for
the upcoming races at the track.
Tickets are for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Kansas 300 race on
Sept. 27 and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Camping World RV 400 on Sept.
28.
Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, adjutant general for Kansas, said the
tickets would be given to troops on a first-come, first-serve
basis.
It is the second year that speedway officials have donated
tickets to the National Guard.
Bunting and Gov. Kathleen Sebelius said the soldiers would be
pulling for Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the No. 88 National Guard
sponsored car, as well as Clint Boyer, an Emporia native. Earnhardt
is fourth in the chase for the Sprint Cup, while Boyer is ninth.
