KANSAS CITY AGREES TO TERMS WITH DE TREVOR JOHNSON

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Thursday that the club has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with DE Trevor Johnson. As per Chiefs policy, no other terms of the agreements were made available

Johnson (6-5, 260) has appeared in 38 games as a defensive end, producing 49 tackles (27 solo) and a sack (-11.0 yards). He appeared in 12 games with St. Louis in 2007, registering 11 tackles (seven solo) and a sack (-11.0 yards). Prior to joining the Rams, Johnson spent portions of the 2006 campaign with both New Orleans and the N.Y. Jets. He appeared in one game for the Saints, registering four tackles. He originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick (224th overall) of the N.Y. Jets in 2004. In three seasons (2004-2006) with the Jets he played in 25 games, recording 34 tackles (17 solo). He also played in two playoff games with the Jets in 2004, collecting three tackles.

The Lincoln, Nebraska native appeared in 46 contests (22 starts) at Nebraska, finishing with 131 tackles (54 solo), 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three passes defensed. A collegiate defensive end, Johnson earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2003 after leading the defensive front with 68 tackles (37 solo) and nine tackles for loss. Johnson prepped at Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska.
