May 9, 2008 - For the third time in four years, the Emporia State women's tennis team fell to Northwest Missouri in the NCAA North Central Sub-Regional Championship dual. The Hornets lost 5-2 to the Bearcats in Maryville, Mo.
Natalie Villaflor ended her illustrious career with a hand in both ESU victories. She teamed with fellow senior Marcella Bayon to win 8-2 at #1 doubles. Villaflor gave the Hornets their second win with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at #2 singles.
The Hornets end the season 14-5 overall and have advanced to the sub-regional final in each of the last four years.
