May 9, 2008 -- Brian Majors went five for five to tie the MIAA single season record for hits with 104 as ESU rallied for three runs in the ninth to earn a 6-5 win. The Hornets outhit the Tigers 14-10 in the on the evening saw three of their hits go for extra bases. The win was the Hornets third straight and second straight walk-off in the MIAA tournament play dating back to last season when they won the post-season championship.

At the plate five different Hornets drove in runs as Conner Crumbliss and Brian Majors each scored two runs in the victory. Along with Crumbliss, Eric Shortell, Keith Hernandez, Anthony Dreiling, Kevin Wempe and Caleb Williamson all added RBI. Wempe's RBI came with the bases loaded in the ninth to give ESU the walk off victory. Brok Nehls moved to 9-2 on the season after coming on the to pitch the final 2.0 innings of the game.

The Hornets will now face Central Missouri in the winner's bracket final from CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kan. on May 10 at 3:30 p.m.
