KANSAS CITY, Kan. (May 8, 2008) – Kansas Speedway’s manager of special events, Lisa Joyce, has been recognized by the Wyandotte County Convention and Visitors Bureau as someone who exemplifies excellent professional service in an extraordinary way. Joyce, who manages over 200 non-race weekend events at Kansas Speedway each year, was given the Excellence in Hospitality Award.

“Lisa is very deserving of this recognition,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “Lisa does a tremendous job managing all of our non-race weekend events and is one of the best in the business in organizing events. She’s a wonderful asset to our staff.”

Joyce oversees both large and small events at Kansas Speedway, including the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies, the University of Kansas Hospital’s Treads and Threads, the ASSISTS Foundation Benefit Event, the AAA Student Mechanic Event, the U.S. Navy Physical Readiness test, numerous business meetings and all driving schools. She also assists the Kansas Speedway marketing department on race weekends.
