LAWRENCE, KANSAS - On May 2-4, 2008, some of the top high school basketball prospects for the classes of 2009, 2010, and 2011 will be competing in Lawrence, Kansas as part of the 9th Annual

Jayhawk Invitational. The Jayhawk Invitational is one of the nation’s premier basketball tournaments of the spring dead period.

Hosted by Roger Morningstar and LJ Goolsby of the KC Pump & Run, the tournament will see some 90 amateur basketball teams taking the courts at several locations around Lawrence. The talent for this year’s event is proving to be among the best and most exciting in years. Derrick Favors, who many consider to be the #2 ranked player in the country, Mike Dixon, Dominique Ferguson, Trae Golden, Joe Jackson, Elijah Johnson, and other top rated players will be taking the courts.

These elite players will be joining the ranks of past Jayhawk Invitational stars such as Brandon Rush, Keith Langford, Deron Williams, Chris Bosh, Ike Diogu, Gerald Green, Davon Jefferson, Cole Alridch

and others.

Top teams and talent in the 17 & Under, 16 & Under, and 15 & Under divisions will arrive in Lawrence from Southern California, Atlanta, Texas, Minnesota, Las Vegas, and Kansas City to play in the 3-day

tournament.

College Coaches Network will sponsor the event and will be hosting video for college coaches, parents and players to watch online after the tournament at www.collegecoaches.net. In addition, top sports

writers and analysts from Rivals.com (Justin Young), Scout.com (Evan Daniels), PrepStars.com (Rob Harrington), EBossHoops.com (Eric Bossie), Mullen Sports (Jerry Mullen), and Wilson Sports (Mike

Wilson) will be covering the action and evaluating the talent.

Spectators are welcome and will have the opportunity to see nationally ranked players at their best. Tickets prices are $7.00 per day or $12.00 for the entire weekend and will be available at the

Allen Fieldhouse gate.
