League’s top Two Offenses Face Off as Ichabod's Travel to Emporia State Wednesday

TOPEKA, Kan. -The top two scoring teams in the MIAA will play each other as Washburn travels to Emporia State Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the 187th meeting between the two in-state rivals. The Ichabod's enter the game 9-2 and 1-1 in the MIAA while Emporia State is 5-6 overall and 0-2 in the league.

The game can be heard live on AM580 WIBW throughout Topeka and most of northeastern Kansas. The audio will also be streamed live through a link at wusports.com for free and fans have the option of watching a live webcast of the game at themiaa.tv for $5.50 a game.

The Ichabods earned their first MIAA victory with an 82-76 comeback win against Central Missouri Saturday while the Hornets lost their third straight game and sixth in the last seven in a 93-70 defeat at Southwest Baptist.

Washburn was 25th in the country while ESU was ranked 23rd in the NABC national poll released December 18. Both teams dropped out of Tuesday’s poll as Washburn went 3-1 since the last poll and ESU went 1-4.

Angel Santiago leads the Ichabod's in scoring with 12.0 points a game, all off the bench, and he’s reached double figures seven straight times. DeAndre Townsend leads ESU and the MIAA with 20.6 points and three other Hornets are in double figures.

The all-time series between the two schools, the most played in both their histories, is tied at 93-93 after ESU has won the last four.
