COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) _ Buddy Wyatt has been hired as new
Texas A&M defensive line coach.
That returns him to the position he held from 2000 through 2002
under R.C. Slocum.
The 41-year-old Wyatt was Nebraska's defensive line coach last
season and worked at Alabama from 2003 through 2005.
A&M coach Mike Sherman says he's impressed with how many of
Wyatt's proteges have gone on to successful NFL careers, including
Ty Warren, Adam Carriker and Jamal Williams.
Before his first stint at A&M, Wyatt worked under Gary Barnett
at Northwestern and Colorado. He also coached the defensive line at
Oklahoma State in 1996 and at Minnesota from 1992-95.
When Wyatt was with A&M in 2001, the Aggies ranked 10th in total
defense, giving up 294 yards per game.
