KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Kansas City general manager Carl
Peterson says a period of change is ahead for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs finished 4-12 this season and lost their final nine
Kansas City scored just 23 touchdowns and 226 points -- the
fewest in a 16-game season in franchise history.
The Chiefs also rushed for only 1,246 yards -- 541 less than
Larry Johnson had the year before.
Kansas City also allowed 55 sacks and averaged only 276 yards in
total offense, the second worst in the NFL.
The Chiefs fired offensive coordinator Mike Solari and three
other offensive assistants two days after the season ended.
Coach Herm Edwards says it's time to move in a different
direction, and the team's offensive philosophy is going to change.
Edwards plans to rebuild mainly through the draft.
