Wildcats Return Home to Start New Year

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State returns to Manhattan for its first contest of the new year, as the Wildcats take on Western Illinois at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night in Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 22-game home court win streak against non-conference opponents, as the streak started on Dec. 6, 2005 against Louisiana Tech.

Action can be heard live from Bramlage Coliseum on the K-State Sports Network and at www.kstatesports.com, with the award-winning Brian Smoller providing the play-by-play and former Wildcat Kristin Waller providing the color analysis.

K-State is coming off a successful trip to Los Angeles for the LMU/Hilton LAX Holiday Classic, as the Wildcats defeated Arkansas-Little Rock (52-40) and Loyola Marymount (70-47) to take the tournament crown. Juniors Marlies Gipson and Shalee Lehning were named to the all-tournament team, with Gipson taking MVP honors by averaging a double-double of 14.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and three blocks.
