Pittsburg State University

Abercrombie, a 6-foot-7, 243-pound senior from Piedmont, S.C., averaged 19.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.67 steals in three wins for the No. 16 Gorillas since Dec. 17, as PSU completed December as the MIAA's only undefeated team.

He scored a game-high 20 points and hauled in a career-best 15 rebounds in a 58-54 win over Angelo (Texas) State Dec. 18 in the St. Mary's (Texas) River City Classic. Abercrombie hit the go-ahead bucket with 17 seconds left to stake Pitt State to a two-point lead.

The night before against the host Rattlers, he scored 16 points with eight rebounds, going 8-of-10 at the foul line as the Gorillas collected a 63-54 win.

Abercrombie logged his second double-double in as many games and league-best third of the season (tied with SBU's Matthew Rogers) with 21 points and 10 boards in a 93-58 home win Saturday (Dec. 29) over Southwestern (Kan.).

For the week, he was 21-of-37 (56.8 percent) from the floor and 15-of-20 (75 percent) at the free throw line.

Abercrombie is a graduate of Palmetto High School, and transferred to PSU from Independence (Kan.) Community College.

Emporia State University

Stueve, a 6-foot-2 senior from Olpe, Kan., earned All-Tournament honors at the Hoop 'N' Surf Classic Dec. 17-18, as she led the No. 14 Lady Hornets to a pair of wins.

She scored 26 points with eight rebounds and two blocked shots as ESU knocked off then-No. 23 Shaw (N.C.), 93-86, on day one of the event. Stueve had 18 points and seven boards in the first half as the Lady Hornets built a 42-36 lead at the half.

In an 80-59 victory over regional foe Oklahoma Panhandle State the next day, Stueve had 25 points and eight rebounds with two steals and two assists. In helping ESU build a 39-29 halftime lead on the Lady Aggies, she scored 14 points and had six rebounds -- making 6-of-9 from the field and 2-of-3 from the three-point arc.

For the tournament, she was 21-of-33 from the field (63.6 percent), including 7-of-13 (53.8 percent) from long range.

Stueve, who led the Hoop 'N' Surf Classic in scoring (25.5 ppg), is a graduate of Olpe High School.
