MIAMI, Fla. - A dozen Kansas football players made a visit to the Veterans Affairs Hospital after Sunday's practice to spend time with patients in the facility.
Players who visited the hospital included Micah Brown, Drew Dudley, Dexton Fields, Jeff Foster, Gary Green, Chris Harris, Marcus Herford, Jake Laptad, Brandon McAnderson, James McClinton, Mike Rivera and Justin Springer.
The players spent nearly an hour talking with the war veterans and both groups enjoyed the visit. The Jayhawks handed out gift bags, which included KU hats and other items.
Earlier in the day, Kansas held its third practice in Miami, working out at Barry University. Defensive coordinator Bill Young and six players spent time with the media in a morning press conference. On Monday, offensive coordinator Ed Warinner and six more players will meet with the media before practice.
