Neuheisel to Coach UCLA

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Rick Neuheisel has accepted an offer to become the next football coach at UCLA.

Neuheisel, a former UCLA quarterback, has spent the last three
seasons as an assistant under Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick.

The 46-year-old Neuheisel has coached in the college ranks at
both Colorado and Washington, compiling a 66-and-30 record.

He was fired at Washington in 2003 for participating in a
betting pool on the NCAA basketball tournament. He sued for
wrongful termination and in March of 2005, settled with Washington
and the NCAA for 4.5 million dollars.

Neuheisel replaces Karl Dorrell (dohr-REHL'), who was fired
December 3rd after five seasons on the job. He becomes the Bruins'
16th head football coach.
