GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) _ Nick Barnett may not file a formal grievance against NFL official Jim Quirk after all.
The agent for the Packers linebacker says his client is more interested in having the league admit that the officials rough treatment of Barnett was wrong.
In the Packers' loss at Chicago last Sunday, Quirk grabbed Barnett by the neck and threw him to the ground while breaking up a scuffle.
Agent Chuck Price had previously told several media outlets he was considering filing a grievance with the league over the incident. Now he says he doesn't think there's a lot to be gained by one.
Price says he doesn't expect Quirk to apologize directly to Barnett, but hopes the league will ``step up and acknowledge'' that the officials actions were out of line.
The league hasn't announced any action against Barnett or the official.
