Orange Bowl Event Schedule

2008 FedEx Orange Bowl 8 p.m. EST / 7 p.m. CST Thursday, Jan. 3
Dolphin Stadium 2269 Dan Marino Blvd. Miami Gardens, FL

The 2007 KU football team will end its historic season by adding another mark in the school record books. For the first time in the University's history, the gridiron men have been selected to participate in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS).

The Jayhawks (11-1, 7-1 Big 12) will face the Virginia Tech Hokies (11-2, 7-1 ACC) in the FedEx Orange Bowl on Jan. 3 in Miami Gardens, Fla. The game will be played at Dolphin Stadium and televised nationally on FOX. Be sure to check our watch sites Web page and find a location near you to cheer KU on with fellow 'Hawks.

This bowl invitation marks the third time KU has played in the Orange Bowl, and the first since 1969, when the 'Hawks suffered a 15-14 loss to Penn State. KU's other appearance came in 1948, a 20-14 loss to Georgia Tech. The 2008 Orange Bowl will be the Jayhawks' 11th bowl game all-time, and third in the Mark Mangino era.

Game tickets and travel packages are still available for purchase by the general public. Gear up for the big game with our football fan merchandise!

Dear Jayhawks,

On behalf of the owners, staff and management of Daisy Dukes Saloon, congratulations on your bid to the 2008 FedEx Orange Bowl! Your accomplishments this football season are a tribute to your university, athletic program and fans. As such, before the the game, we would love for all KU fans and alumni to join us in celebrating your accomplishments at our establishment.

Your opponent, the Hokies of Virginia Tech, happen to be a rival of our Miami Hurricanes, so all of South Florida will be wearing crimson and blue, and stand beside your alumni as we learn your storied battle cry, the Rock Chalk Chant. We look forward to seeing you on Jan. 3. Safe travels and good luck.
