KU SELLS OUT ITS ALLOTMENT OF ORANGE BOWL TICKETS
Kansas Athletics announced Monday that it has sold out its allotment of 17,500 tickets to the 2008 Orange Bowl. The eighth-ranked Jayhawks (11-1) will take on No. 3 Virginia Tech, the champions of the Atlantic Coast Conference, Jan. 3 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Fla.
“We knew Jayhawk fans would be excited about supporting their team,” Kansas Athletics Director Lew Perkins said. “Miami is not an easy place to get to at the last minute during the winter,” he said. “But our fans persevered. We’ll have a large, loud and excited fan base in Miami, and we can’t wait to get there.”
The Orange Bowl, Kansas’ first BCS bowl in school history, kicks off at 7 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, Jan. 3, and will be broadcast live on FOX.
