Northwest Missouri-Valdosta to meet for DII title

FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) _ Xavier Omon and his fellow Northwest
Missouri State seniors have a chance to improve an already
impressive legacy this weekend.
The Bearcats (12-1) face Valdosta State of Georgia (12-1)
tomorrow in Florence, Alabama, in their third consecutive Division
II championship game.
So far, Omon and his teammates are 0-for-2.
Northwest Missouri has already gotten through its biggest
obstacle, beating Grand Valley State of Michigan last week. Grand
Valley beat the Bearcats in the last two title games by a combined
seven points.
Valdosta State is led by quarterback Willie Copeland, who has
passed for 2,903 yards and 27 touchdowns.
Omon leads Division II in rushing this year and was named to The
Associated Press Little All-America first team.
