December 12, 2007
NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) - The New Orleans Saints on Wednesday put placekicker Olindo Mare on injured reserve and signed Martin Gramatica to replace him.

Mare suffered a dislocated hip while attempting to make a tackle on a kickoff return during Monday night's 34-14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

An 11-year veteran who is in his first season with the Saints, Mare has connected on just 10-of-17 field goal attempts.

Gramatica played with the Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts in 2006, converting 7-of-9 attempts. He was out of football during the 2005 season after making just 11-of-19 field goals for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
